This week we have been researching Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot.  We created our own bonfires using a technique called blow-painting and shall finish them next week with the addition of real twigs and a sprinkle of gold glitter.  We also created fireworks in milk, using food colouring and fairy liquid.  This was a fabulous experiment which investigated the impact of soap molecules on the fatty globules present in milk.  Finally, we attempted to create the Houses of Parliament with Kapla blocks, which made for some interesting and varied results!  These three activities have helped build on meta-skills including collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.
