The Barhoise committee have been learning about Fairtrade. We have been looking a the making of shea butter and presenting our PowerPoint to the whole school at assembly. It’s about people in Africa going out and working long, hard hours every a day and looking for shea berries and nuts to make shea butter. When they are searching they have to be careful because snakes and scorpions lurk in the bushes. Amazingly the people in Africa make shea butter from hand with little or no machinery at all. They have to go through blood, sweat and tears to make this wonderful shea butter. Fairtrade ensure these workers get a fair price for their work and extra money can go to school or community projects.
These are the pictures of our presentation and the display we made in the school.
