Today our P6 pupils across both schools dotted off to Operation Safety at Stair Park today for a wide variety of different safety inputs!\ud83c\udd98All helping them get clued up before their senior year!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pupils moved around 7 stations, each with their own focus;<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Fire safety \u2013 can they spot the fire hazards in a home and how to manage these! \ud83e\uddef\ud83d\udd25\ud83d\ude92<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The Coastguard! (very important for this time of year in this area\u2026) what to do if they spot somebody drowning and how to keep themselves safe in water. \ud83e\udd7d\ud83d\udea3\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Electricity with Scottish Power \u2013 spotting electrical hazards in the home and how to prevent these \u26a1\ud83d\udca1\ud83d\udd0c<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Youth Work came and did an input on Internet Safety \u2013 teaching pupils how to stay safe online and what they should or shouldn\u2019t share online. \ud83d\udc4d<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Drugs and Alcohol \u2013 what are the harmful effects of drugs and alcohol \ud83d\udc4e<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Community, Council & Criminal \u2013 looking at certain acts and who is responsible for preventing and managing these! Is it a criminal problem for the police? A problem for the community to manage themselves? Or something we should turn to the council to help prevent? \ud83e\uddd0\ud83e\udd14<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Vandalism in the community! Pupils built giant Jenga Towers before they were cruelly destroyed in front of them. <\/span>This taught pupils how it feels to have something of value that others can take upon themselves to deface! \ud83d\udd8c\ud83c\udfa8<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    After\u00a0 the whopping 7 inputs over the course of the day \u2013 safe to say our P6 pupils are pretty clued up ! Thank you to all the organisations in the community for making this happen every year and to Mrs MacPherson for accompanying pupils today and playing the role of photographer to document the day!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
