Today P5-7 were lucky enough to be the first to receive an input today from Kelsey and Natalie from Alzheimer’s Scotland. They delivered an input called S.T.A.R.S with the boys and girls which all got them thinking about their brains and how amazing they can be!<\/span><\/p>\n

We started off by learning some impressive brain facts; such as how octopus have 9 brains<\/strong> and jellyfish sadly have no brains<\/strong>, how brains grow until you’re 25 and how the brain has 83 billion neurons<\/strong> whizzing about in there.<\/span><\/p>\n

We discussed the different ways we can look after our brain linked with the S.T.A.R.S acronym;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

S – Spending time with family and friends (not too much time alone!) \ud83d\udc69\ud83d\udc68\ud83c\udffd\u200d\ud83e\uddb1\ud83e\uddd2\ud83c\udffc<\/span><\/p>\n

T – Tucking into healthy food (we all know what to eat to make sure we stay healthy and active!) \ud83e\udd57\ud83e\udd6a\ud83e\uddc0\ud83e\udd58<\/span><\/p>\n

A – being Active and healthy! (making sure we keep moving and look after our body) \ud83c\udfc3\ud83c\udffc\u200d\u2642\ufe0f\ud83e\udd38\ud83c\udffc\u200d\u2640\ufe0f\ud83c\udfcb\ud83c\udffd\u200d\u2640\ufe0f<\/span><\/p>\n

R – Rest and relaxation (you have to listen to your brain and body and rest them properly) \ud83d\udecf\ud83d\udcda<\/span><\/p>\n

S – Safety! Wearing helmets and doing things to keep your heads and brains within them safe! \u26d1
\n<\/span><\/p>\n
