Bluebell Wood

In Bluebell Wood we saw the fallen over log it was very spiky and long . Then we went down to the field and saw the fast windy burn with pointy rocks and we heard it splash and bubble there were no bluebells because it is not spring. We heard ravens roar and trucks whizzing by . It took all of the p4s to hug the very big tree and we saw evergreen trees and small beach trees and gigantic pine trees we and spiky pinecones and beach nuts!

Getting ready for lambing time!

At the weekend we cleaned out the lambing shed where the cows have been staying. First we got the digger and dad scooped up the muck with it ( It was a foot deep)! Next we got the tractor and scooped up the rest of the mud. We came back after lunch time and worked till 5.00pm! It was getting pitch black so we went home. The next morning me and dad came down early. Mum and Callum came at 10.30pm. It’s surprising how much we mist in the dark! We did the same we did on Saturday and worked till 2.30pm. Next week we will either spray the ground with disinfectant or use a powder called lime. I’m super excited for lambing time and will post a picture of the lambs when it’s spring.

Bluebell Woods

We went on a walk to the Bluebell Woods. We saw a spider and two slugs and then we went to the river at the bottom of the hill. It was so much fun we closed our eyes and listened. We heard the singing birds, a noisy lorry go past and the gurgling river.

There was also a very big tree that we needed 4 P4s to hug!

Our Invisible Strings

During Lockdown two of the stories we listened to were, “The Invisible String” and “While We Can’t Hug.” In the first week back at school we revisited the stories and thought about how we could greet each other in the morning and who we were still joined to by our invisible strings even though we were back at school.

Our Walk

On one of our walks we went on the crunchy, shell track and we went on Mrs Muir’s cool tree and it was fun! We heard the bubbling burn and we saw lots of small lady bugs. There is a big pile of small stones and we played on them. Today we went to the Bluebell Woods and we collected big and small pine cones. We also saw lots of slimy slugs! It was very steep in the woods and there was a massive fallen over spiky tree!

The burn on the shell track.

Our walk

Today our class went on a walk to the bluebell woods. We started to walk but someone forgot to put their boots on! So we had to go back to the school. After that we walked to the Bluebell Woods and we went down a really steep hill, which was fun. Then we hugged a tree and it took four people to hug it! We heard the gurgling stream, the busy traffic, the birds and gentle leaves.
