World Book Day

On Thursday we celebrated World Book Day by bringing in our favourite book. In small teams the pupils then had to try to work out whose book was whose and why! It was very impressive how many were guessed correctly and what good reasons were given. Along the way we learned lots about each other. We finished off with a few rounds of some very challenging World Book Day quizzes.

grangemouth

At the weekend I was at Grangemouth swimming in the Forth Valley Disability Sport – Regional School and Club Swimming Championships. I got a gold and silver medal. One was for back crawl and one for front crawl. I think all the people that I raced were older than me. I had lots of friends.

Creating Futures Crown In P1-4

Across the partnership we are focusing on developing a nurturing ethos and on developing a growth mind set in all learners. As part of this, each day, one child tries to spot a classmate who is showing a good attitude. There are many attributes they can spot: being positive, keeping going when it gets hard, being a good team member, helping someone else etc. In Hottsbridge P1-4 the child chosen at the end of each day gets to wear the “Creating Futures Crown” the next day! (We made our crown together using lots of origami squares!)

Little Tekkers

Last night, 7th of March , I played my debut (after 7 months preparing to play matches) for Brian Gilfillan Little Tekkers. Being only 11 it was a big step up to be playing with 13 year olds and the like but the bigger achievement for me was being named captain to play on the astonishing Palmerston pitch! Against a side like Queen of The South U14 boys & being our first game it didn’t quite go to plan losing…….. 15-0! Anyway it was a big moment in my life to play for an ex-professional footballer (Brian Gillfillan) , being named captain & playing on QOS’s pitch!
