Another busy term is almost complete!<\/p>\n

We started off the term by exploring Diversity. We took our learning outdoors where we created a Diversity web. We used collaboration and creativity to draw around our partner and add in facts about ourselves. We then looked around the circle and drew a line to someone that we had a similarity with. Very quickly we could see lots of similarities between us.<\/p>\n

As part of Scooter Week, we had the chance to use the scooters. We used collaboration and \u00a0critical thinking skills to create an obstacle course where we were weaving around objects and working on our ability to control our speed.<\/p>\n

We went to Dumfries High School for a Health and Wellbeing day where we met some of our teachers for next year, as well as peers from other schools. One of our favourite activities was using our communication skills to guide our blindfolded partner to put pieces of penne pasta onto a piece of spaghetti, and making spaghetti and marshmallow bridges!<\/p>\n

We had our Term 2 trip to Lochthorn Library where we used our focusing and curiosity skills to find synonyms and antonyms after learning about these in class.<\/p>\n

As part of our French learning all about clothes, we used \u00a0creativity to design our very own outfits, which we then labelled in French. We also had a fashion show where we described our outfits to the class. Tres bien P7!<\/p>\n

Our teacher was very impressed when a small group decided to create their very own maths game to play in class! This developed creativity, leadership, communication and critical thinking.<\/p>\n

We have been learning about the Festival of Light, Diwali. We created our own Rangoli patterns outside in the playground. There was so much creativity and focus involved in this activity.<\/p>\n

Our very passionate Rights Respecting leaders, Jack and Callan, took on a leadership role and taught us about one of our chosen articles, Article 14. We all created brilliant posters all about our right to choose our own religion and what this means to us.<\/p>\n

P7R chose to learn about Scotland\u2019s involvement in World War One. As part of our learning, we took part in a STEM challenge to create a WW1 trench out of a variety of materials. This activity fostered almost ALL of our Meta-Skills and we had great fun doing it!<\/p>\n

To round up our term and get ourselves into the festive spirit, P5 to P7 have been preparing and practising for a Christmas sing-a-long for the community. Everyone did absolutely outstanding and made their teachers incredibly proud! Members of the community who came to watch the performance were full of praise for our very talented young people.<\/p>\n

P7R even made shortbread for our guests.<\/p>\n
