Each curriculum area is broken down into <a href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/Documents\/health-and-wellbeing-eo.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">experience and outcomes<\/a>.&nbsp; These are clear and concise statements about children&#8217;s learning and progression from pre-school to S3.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>View the document &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/media\/xhfji3wv\/health-and-wellbeing-pp.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Curriculum for Excellence: health and wellbeing principles and practice<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>The Health and Wellbeing experiences and outcomes are separated into 6 key areas, or organisers:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>Mental, Emotional, Social &amp; Physical Wellbeing;<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>Planning for Choices &amp; Change;<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>Physical Education, Physical Activity &amp; Sport (PEPAS);<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>Food &amp; Health;<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>Substance Misuse; and<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>Relationships, Sexual Health &amp; Parenthood (RSHP).<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two key Curriculum for Excellence resources which support teachers to plan learning, teaching and assessment for children and young people aged 3-15:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/Documents\/health-and-wellbeing-eo.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Health &amp; Wellbeing: Experiences &amp; Outcomes<\/a>; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><a href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/improvement\/learning-resources\/curriculum-for-excellence-benchmarks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Health &amp; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>establish a pattern of health and wellbeing which will be sustained into adult life, and which will help to promote the health and wellbeing of the next generation of Scottish children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Health and Wellbeing curriculum also supports some young people to perform at high levels in sport or prepare for careers within the health and leisure industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><em>(adapted from <a href=\"https:\/\/education.gov.scot\/Documents\/health-and-wellbeing-pp.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CfE: Health &amp; Wellbeing: Principles &amp; Practice<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the health and wellbeing of every child and young person is rightly the responsibility of all school staff, learning in health and wellbeing is largely taught through Personal and Social Education (PSE) in secondary schools or Health &amp; Wellbeing (HWB) in primary and ELC .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-text-color has-large-font-size\" style=\"color:#02969e\">What do we mean by Health and Wellbeing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Health and Wellbeing Curriculum<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">3 &#8211; 15 curriculum framework<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Health and Wellbeing within Early Learning and Primary establishment<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Discrete curricular areas in Secondary establishments (Home Economics, Physical Education, and Personal and Social Education)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Responsibility of All (RoA)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Children and young people should feel <strong>happy<\/strong>, <strong>safe<\/strong>, <strong>respected <\/strong>and <strong>included <\/strong>in the school environment and <strong>all staff<\/strong> should be proactive in promoting positive behaviour in the classroom, playground and the wider school community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Everyone <\/strong>with each learning community, whatever their contact with children and young people may be, shares the responsibility for creating a positive ethos and climate of respect and trust &#8211;
