Our Partnership
The Executive Group of our Children’s Services Strategic and Planning Partnership (CSSaPP Executive Group) involves senior managers from NHS Dumfries and Galloway; Dumfries and Galloway Council; the Police; Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway; and the Scottish Children’s Reporter Administration.
They come together to identify shared priorities for services for children and young people across the entire partnership, with a focus on children and young people who need additional support. Our Children’s Services Plan sets out how we will achieve these priorities.
Our Local Priorities
In Dumfries and Galloway our partnership is prioritising
- Early intervention – by identifying needs and providing support at the earliest opportunity.
- Improving outcomes for children and young people most in need of support.
- Meaningful engagement with, and involvement of children and young people.
To deliver these priorities, we have workstreams that are focusing on:
- How we support children and young people who are disabled and have complex care needs.
- How we look after our children and young people who are in care.
- How we support children and young people’s mental health.
- How we tackle child poverty in Dumfries and Galloway.
- How we provide early help and support to families.
You can find our Children’s Services Plan on our Council webpage. There is also a short video with British Sign Language interpretation and an Easy Read version. Annual Reports on the plan are also available here.
How we work together
We have multi-agency planning groups who are each responsible for a workstream in our Children’s Services Plan.
Each planning group includes representatives from across our partnership.
The planning groups report to our partnership’s Executive Group whose role is to scrutinise progress and challenge the planning groups to demonstrate how well they are making a difference to children and families.
