{"id":285,"date":"2019-11-25T09:58:22","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T09:58:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/gelston\/?p=285"},"modified":"2019-11-25T09:58:22","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T09:58:22","slug":"weekly-newsletter-25th-november-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/gelston\/2019\/11\/25\/weekly-newsletter-25th-november-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Newsletter \u2013 25th November 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Welcome to our New Clerical Assistant<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This week we welcome Mrs Georgina Benson to Gelston Primary School.\u00a0 She will normally be in the office from 9am-3pm on a Tuesday and Friday.\u00a0 This week she is joining us on Monday 25<sup>th<\/sup> and Wednesday 27<sup>th<\/sup> November to enable her to work alongside Miss Campbell and Miss McNeill.\u00a0 We hope that you will make her feel very welcome.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Communication and Data Protection<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the interests of Data Protection, we wanted to ensure that we are no longer holding pupil details on unused apps or websites.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I have contacted the administrator of the old websites and I have asked them to delete the websites and URLs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We continue to send GroupCall texts to your mobile phones.\u00a0 GroupCall is directly linked to data from our Council based SEEMiS system.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Expressions app is also linked to GroupCall and SEEMiS but we do not use it after gathering feedback from parents.\u00a0 You may delete the Expressions app.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Parent Council Survey<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our Parent Council have prepared some information to introduce themselves and this is included on their blog: <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/gelstonpc\/\">https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/gelstonpc\/<\/a> .\u00a0 (This is also located on the right hand side bar of the school website under the heading, \u2018Gelston Parent Council Updates\u2019.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One of the first things that they would like to do is to try and make our Parent Council as accessible as possible.
