Building Capacity for Education and Wellbeing

Our Role

The Educational Psychology Service is committed to building capacity in education for Dumfries and Galloway. Educational Psychologists contribute to building capacity through our diverse offer of training opportunities.

Mental Health

The service has developed mental health training which sits alongside the national mental health training, CYPMH – Professional Learning Resource. We also contribute to a wide range of professional learning opportunities with our partners, including Meeting Learners Needs (see Modules - Enquire), Trauma Informed Approaches, Nurture, Solution Focussed Approaches, and Executive Functioning. Currently our service is developing the use of Video Enhanced Reflective Practice to embed professional learning and improve outcomes for children and young people.
