Douglas Ewart High School<\/strong> was opened in 1922 in Newton Stewart<\/a>, Scotland<\/a>. It was formed by the amalgamation of the Douglas Free School opened in 1834 and the High School of the Ewart Institute opened in 1864.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Douglas Ewart High School is a non-denominational school serving the town of Newton
Stewart and an extensive rural area, the current school roll is 592.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our school is proud to have achieved the Bronze Rights Respecting Schools Award. This shows that we are committed to putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of our school ethos. We are now working towards the Silver award where children\u2019s rights are understood, respected and lived every day. This helps everyone in our school community to feel safe valued and included.
