Dumfries and Galloway Council has byelaws that outline the guidelines and protocols for businesses and organisations that employ children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dumfriesandgalloway.gov.uk\/schools-learning\/parents-carers\/employment-children-young-people\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Employment of children and young people<\/strong><\/a> page on the Council website provides supportive information for children, parents and carers and prospective employers about the employment of children under school leaving age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional information from the Scottish Government can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\/publications\/employment-children-guide-children\/pages\/1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Employment of children: a guide for children<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Anyone who employs a young person on a part-time basis (aged between 13 and 16) must obtain a Permit to Undertake Employment.
