P5/6/7 Paratroopers

P5/6/7 have been learning about the importance of paratroopers in the victory on D-Day. Today, they were given a mission of their very own.

Mission: design a parachute to safely drop a paratrooper into enemy territory.

Materials: one plastic and one paper sheet.

They were given 45 minutes to make the best design before they were put to the test. There were some fantastic designs, all very unique but which would prove to be the best?

Once the parachutes were made the time to test them came!

This means taking them outside to test them in the wind! We first tested all the paper parachutes and then the plastic ones. Once we established that the plastic parachutes were a lot more effective we decided to have everyone drop their parachutes at once!
