DGSFA Soccer Sevens

Nine Primary Seven pupils were picked to play for and represent Dalbeattie Primary School at this regional (Dumfries District) event today at Palmerstone Arena in Dumfries. The event was a qualifying round for the SFA Soccer Sevens competition that runs throughout Scotland.  The team represented the school very well and showed fantastic sporting behaviours and attitudes. The boys were a credit to the school, parents and coaches Mr MacDougall and Mr Cathro.IMG_0048Dalbeattie Primary P7 Soccer Sevens Team.

Fundraising

Friday 13th was the day for a very successful fundraiser at Dalbeattie Primary where the proceeds were divided between Children in Need and The Janice Jamieson Memorial Trust Fund. Pupils enjoyed having a non uniform day and brought in £1 each. Some children chose to dress up as superheroes or as champions. ‘Champions’ was also the theme of an extra ‘Sports Champion’ anagram quiz. Our pictures show some of the children in their superhero or sports champions outfits. Our 11 school councillors are pictured with an array of Pudsey prizes before presenting them to 4 lucky winners, Emma Newbould, Finlay Burns, Amie McKerrow and Rhuari Webster. Money going to the Janice Jamieson Memorial Trust Fund will be used to sponsor a young person through his/her education in Malawi.

Beat the Street Presentation

On Thursday 29th October Dalbeattie Primary School hosted the ‘Beat the Street’ presentation event for the community of  Dalbeattie. It was a pleasure to welcome Sue Ingham from Intelligent Health to school to share information about the impact of the event on Dalbeattie and to present prizes. Thank you to all those who attended the event. Well done to everyone in Dalbeattie who took part in Beat the Street.
