w\/c 08.11.2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Families and Friends of Crossmichael and Gelston Primary Schools,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Covid-19 Update<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You will be aware that there has been an increase in the amount of Covid-19 cases reported in our local area.\u00a0 Please continue to complete regular lateral flow tests and if you or a member of your household becomes symptomatic then stay at home and book a PCR test.\u00a0 (Your child may attend school if their PCR test is negative even if another member of your household receives a positive test.)<\/p>\n<p>If you or your child experiences any of the following three symptoms then stay at home, book a PCR test and wait for a negative result before returning to school.<\/p>\n<p>Symptom 1 &#8211;\u00a0 a new or continuous cough<\/p>\n<p>Symptom 2 &#8211;\u00a0 a fever\/ high temperature<\/p>\n<p>Symptom 3 &#8211;\u00a0 a loss of sense of taste or smell<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Staffing Across Our Partnership Schools<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to Mrs Marscheider who is our new Acting Principal Teacher (Mon-Thurs) at Gelston Primary School.\u00a0 Letters have been sent home to explain arrangements in more detail.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Remembrance\u00a0 Day &#8211; 11th November 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pupils at both schools will be marking Remembrance Day by observing a two minute silence and learning about the significance of the day.<\/p>\n<p>At Crossmichael, Mrs Henry will attend to play the Last Post.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Cooper from Gelston Community Council has provided Gelston pupils with a wreath to lay on the war memorial in Gelston village.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Active Schools Input at Gelston Primary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At Gelston,\u00a0 Active Schools are providing a block of Gymnastics lessons with P1-3 each Friday.\u00a0 They are also running a lunch club for all ages to participate in.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Limitless Kids Club<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A free after school club for P5-7 pupils is being held each Wednesday from 4-5pm at the Hub Youth Centre, Blackpark Road, Castle Douglas.\u00a0 Here is a copy of the flier:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-985\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/public\/crossmichael\/uploads\/sites\/7652\/2021\/11\/09113613\/1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>School Photographs &#8211;
