w\/c 04.10.2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Friends and Families of Crossmichael and Gelston Primary Schools,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It has been another busy term in across the partnership schools.\u00a0 Thank you once again for your support and for keeping in touch with us this term via class Facebook pages, email and telephone.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>October Holidays<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Schools are closed from Monday 11th October &#8211; Friday 22nd October.\u00a0 Pupils and staff return on Monday 25th October.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crossmichael Parent Council &#8211; Halloween Quiz<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our Parent Council has created a quiz sheet that was emailed to parents today.\u00a0 If you and your child wish to complete the sheet then you will be put in to a prize draw.\u00a0 \u00a0Please send your completed sheet back into school in a sealed envelope (clearly marked with your child&#8217;s name) along with a suggested \u00a31 donation.\u00a0 All money raised will go towards paying for Christmas treats including the crackers, presents and party prizes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>School Halloween Celebrations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pupils will be invited to join in with Halloween activities on Friday 29th October and may arrive at school dressed in their Halloween costumes.\u00a0 (Please do not send your child to school with accessories such as broom sticks and masks.\u00a0 We also ask that face paints are worn prior to arriving at school for Health and Safety reasons. )<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Decorating Shop Windows in Castle Douglas<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pupils from Crossmichael and Gelston Primary Schools have been asked to create Halloween displays to decorate several shop windows in the town and in return the shops will have the name of the schools noted on the display.<\/p>\n<div>In the October holidays, your child can participate in a scavenger hunt organised by Castle Douglas Toddler Group.\u00a0 A letter will be hidden in each shop window and the letters will spell some Halloween words.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>We are selling the scavenger hunt forms for 50p in school.\u00a0<\/strong> <em>All profits will go to Castle Douglas Toddler Group but they are kindly donating \u00a310 to each school who takes part and every child who enters will be entered into a prize draw.\u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>To be in with a chance of winning, you should upload your child&#8217; s photograph of them wearing their Halloween costume along with their completed form to the &#8216;<strong>Castle Douglas half term Halloween scavenger hunt&#8217;\u00a0<\/strong>Facebook page.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Please do not return the completed forms to school.<\/em><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reporting to Parents<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We are not yet able to hold parents&#8217;
