Dear Family and Friends of Crossmichael and Gelston Primary Schools,<\/p>\n
Face Coverings (Adults) \u2013 from Monday 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0November<\/p>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n The Scottish Government has issued updated guidance to all schools this afternoon which includes a change to the guidance on the wearing of face coverings for\u00a0adults (staff, parents and visitors)\u00a0<\/strong>in Primary Schools. (Primaries will now have the same procedures as Secondary schools).<\/p>\n From Monday 2nd<\/sup><\/p>\n a) Face coverings should be worn by adults\u00a0wherever they cannot keep 2m distance\u00a0<\/strong>with other adults and\/or children and young people\u00a0in or out<\/strong>\u00a0of the classroom.<\/p>\n b) At all times,\u00a0when moving around the school<\/strong>, adults should wear a face covering e.g. in corridors, office areas and staff rooms.<\/p>\n c) Face coverings should be worn by\u00a0parents<\/strong>\u00a0and other\u00a0visitors<\/strong>\u00a0to all school sites (whether entering the building or school grounds), including parents at drop-off and pick-up.<\/p>\n The update guidance applies to all adults and face coverings will now need to be worn unless there is an exemption.<\/p>\n The advice for children has\u00a0not<\/strong>\u00a0changed and there is\u00a0no<\/strong>\u00a0need for children to wear face coverings but are welcome to wear one if they wish when moving about the school.<\/p>\n We have tried to keep our routines as normal as possible but, from Monday, the wearing of face coverings in the playground by adults and when moving about the school will be introduced and could I please ask that you share this news with your child(ren) so that they will be aware of this change in time for Monday.<\/p>\n Thank you for your support and patience as the new Scottish Government guidance filters down to school level.\u00a0 Please remember to wear a face covering when dropping off and collecting your child(ren).\u00a0 This will help to keep us all safe.<\/p>\n Best wishes,<\/p>\n Mary E.
