Welcome back to our second term of 2020\/2021.\u00a0 I hope that you had a restful time during the October holidays.<\/p>\n

Class Newsletters<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Teachers will be sending class newsletters home in the next few weeks so that you have some information about what your child is learning in school this term.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Remembrance Day Poppies<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n We will be distributing poppies to pupils for a small donation.\u00a0 The poppies have been quarantined for three days and will be handed out using gloves.\u00a0 Pupils should bring in a donation from tomorrow.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Parent Council Halloween Word Scramble<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n The deadline for the Halloween Word Scramble competition is tomorrow. Completed Halloween Word Scrambles should be placed in an envelope together with a donation and returned to school or to the village shop by tomorrow, Tuesday, 27th October.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Friday 30th<\/sup> October – Halloween Costumes\/ Non-Uniform Day – \u00a31<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n On Friday we are having a non-uniform day for a suggested donation of \u00a31 towards school funds.\u00a0 Pupils (and staff) can wear Halloween costumes or casual clothes.\u00a0 Please do not send your child to school with a mask or face paint to avoid the risk of cross contamination.\u00a0 Pupils will engage in Covid-safe Halloween activities in the afternoon.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Ventilation and Wearing Extra Clothing in School<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Schools have been advised to ensure that there is adequate ventilation to minimise the spread of Covid-19.\u00a0 We must also keep classrooms as comfortable as possible.\u00a0 Classrooms will be heated but windows will be partially open to allow for air flow.\u00a0 We ask that pupils bring in an extra jumper or fleece (not necessarily uniform) to keep them warm this term.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Flu Vaccinations<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Children will receive flu vaccinations on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Parent Council Tea Towel Fundraiser<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n Each child in school has drawn a portrait to be included on a Crossmichael Primary School Tea Towel.\u00a0 Our Parent Council plan to sell the tea towels before Christmas.\u00a0 Information about ordering them will follow shortly.\u00a0 Thank you to everyone who took part in our survey before the October holidays.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you wish to discuss anything further then please contact us via the school office email.\u00a0 \u00a0You may also contact me on 07741 686730 if required.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Best wishes<\/p>\n Mary E Lidstone-Scott<\/p>\n Headteacher<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Dear Family and Friends of Crossmichael Primary School, Welcome back to our second term of 2020\/2021.\u00a0 I hope that you had a restful time during the October holidays.
