Dear Family and Friends of Crossmichael and Gelston Primary Schools,<\/p>\n
Updates for August<\/strong><\/p>\n I have no further updates about the return to school.\u00a0 I have several meetings this week and I will keep you informed once I have more information available.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Transition Arrangements for New Pupils<\/strong><\/p>\n I will be contacting all parents\/ carers of pupils who are new to the school so that they can come for a short visit including a tour of the school on Thursday 2nd<\/sup> July.\u00a0 Each family will be given a different 10 minute time slot and we will follow social distancing advice.\u00a0 Please save the date.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n End of Term Arrangements for P7s<\/strong><\/p>\n We are preparing a pre-recorded \u2018Leavers\u2019 Assembly\u2019 for the last week of term.\u00a0 Our P7 pupils are busy recording their speeches.\u00a0 I will be delivering the P7 gifts to your homes throughout next week.\u00a0 We are arranging to have a virtual meal via ZOOM on Friday 26th<\/sup> June at 6.30pm.\u00a0 The school will pay for this if parents could collect the \u2018take away\u2019.\u00a0 Miss Campbell is currently looking into menus and prices for both schools.\u00a0 We will contact you separately to make arrangements.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Learning at Home<\/strong><\/p>\n In the last week of term (w\/c 30th<\/sup> June) teachers will not be sending out learning grids but will provide you with links to suitable websites where your child can access materials if they wish.\u00a0 Staff will be focusing on transition arrangements and organising the digital materials associated with this.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Staffing and Classes<\/strong><\/p>\n We welcome Miss Nicole Drummond as the P1-3 teacher at Gelston for next year.\u00a0 Miss Scott will be working from home until her Maternity Leave begins.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At Crossmichael, I am interviewing class teachers on Monday 26th<\/sup> June for the P1\/2 vacancy.\u00a0 I also hope to have someone in post to cover Miss Campbell\u2019s Maternity Leave.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Mrs Glover and I contacted parents\/ carers of P2 and P4 pupils to inform them of which class their child was in as we have P1\/2, P2-4, P4\/5 and P6\/7 classes.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/strong>Parent Council Meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n The Parent Council are having a \u2018Parent Council Update Meeting\u2019 on Monday 29th June at 7pm on ZOOM.\u00a0 Please let the Chairperson, Mrs Gilli Hodson know if you want to attend by emailing\u00a0crossmichaelparentcouncil@gmail.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The link to minutes of latest Parent Council meeting can be found here:<\/p>\n
