Active Schools\u2019 \u2018Jigs and Reels\u2019 Event \u2013 Monday 27th<\/sup> January<\/strong><\/p>\n

Active Schools organised a morning of traditional Scottish Dancing for pupils in P5-7 on Monday 27th<\/sup> January at Dalbeattie Learning Campus.\u00a0 Our team performed their dances then enjoyed learning some new ones.\u00a0 Thank you to Mrs Stevens for accompanying them.<\/p>\n

School Dinner \u2013 Burns Lunch on 28th<\/sup> January<\/strong><\/p>\n

Please remember that we are having our school Burns Dinner on 28th<\/sup> January.\u00a0 Pupils may wear some tartan if they wish.<\/p>\n

Scottish Poetry Recitals<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pupils will be reciting their Scottish poetry in school this week as part of their ongoing learning in literacy and language.<\/p>\n

Creative Scotland Youth Music Initiative Music Workshops \u2013 \u2018Singing\u00a0Games\u00a0and Rhymes\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mrs Picken will be coming in to school to work with pupils in P1-3 on Wednesday for 30 minutes.\u00a0 This will be the first of three sessions where pupils will be engaged in singing games and rhymes.\u00a0 The other sessions will be on Monday 3rd<\/sup> February and Monday 10th<\/sup> February.<\/p>\n

P5-7 School trip to Tongland Power Station \u2013 Wednesday 29th<\/sup> January<\/strong><\/p>\n

P5-7 pupils will be visiting Tongland Power Station on Wednesday 29th<\/sup> January in the afternoon.\u00a0 This is being funded by the Galloway Biospheres Project and links to the block of learning that pupils engaged in last term with the Galloway Biospheres Officer (Shalla Gray).\u00a0 Miss Seivwright will accompany pupils and they will be back in time for the end of the school day.<\/p>\n

The RSPB Big Bird Watch<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our Pupil Council have registered for the RSPB’s Big Bird Watch.\u00a0 They are choosing one hour this week to observe the birds in our playground and they will keep a record of the ones that they see.\u00a0 This information will then be sent to the RSPB so that they can track the progress of each species.<\/p>\n

Open Day for Parents \u2013 Tuesday 4th<\/sup> February<\/strong><\/p>\n
