Every child needs to be active

Children are physically active and can grow and develop in a healthy way.

Being active means things like…

  • exploring the world around them
  • playing at home
  • playing outdoors – things like sports, cycling, walking or going to the park
  • doing fun things as a family
  • doing things a child enjoys and encouraging them to try new things

  • children learn through different sorts of play – water, puzzles, games
  • children learn to take turns and share by playing with friends
  • children get praise
