Castle Douglas Primary and Early Learning and Childcare Centre

This is my school and I love it here!

Shape, Position and Movement

Activity 1 – Shape at Home

Focus – I can talk about shapes and objects around me.

Use play opportunities to build houses, towers, castles, caves, robots, etc with your child. Construction equipment such as Lego is good for this or you can find things around the house to use such as tins or books.

Activity 2 – Position and Movement at Home.

Focus – I can use the language of position and turning to talk about where something is and give directions.

Adult should hide something at home and describe to the child where to find it – think about vocabulary e.g. behind, under, beside, below, across from, on top, underneath, etc

Activity 3 – Symmetry at Home.

Focus – I can make a symmetrical pattern with different materials.

Look for objects or pictures (leaves, flowers, clothes, buildings, mugs) that display symmetry and to bring these in for a display or take a photograph and send it to cdpsp1@gmail.com
