Safeguarding

At Castle Douglas Primary School, safeguarding is at the heart of our values. We are committed to ensuring that every child feels safe, respected, and supported to thrive — in school, at home, and in the wider community.

What to do if you have a concern about a child or young person?

Please make immediate contact with Miss S. Davies (Headteacher) who acts as our Child Protection Co-Ordinator. In her absence, contact can be made with Mrs C. Carlyle (Depute Headteacher), Mrs A. Graham (Depute Headteacher), Mr A. Whan (Principal Teacher) or Mrs R. Gowans (ELCC Manager).

If you are worried that a child is at risk of harm and wish to make contact with Social Services directly, information on how to do so can be found here: https://www.dumfriesandgalloway.gov.uk/social-care-health/keeping-people-safe/child-protection
