At Castle Douglas Primary School, safeguarding is at the heart of our values. We are committed to ensuring that every child feels safe, respected, and supported to thrive — in school, at home, and in the wider community.
What to do if you have a concern about a child or young person?
Please make immediate contact with Mrs C Carlyle (Acting Head Teacher) who acts as our Child Protection Coordinator. In her absence, contact can be made with Mrs A. Graham (Depute Headteacher), Mr A. Whan (Acting Depute Head Teacher), Miss E. Biggar (Acting Principal Teacher) or Mrs R. Gowans (ELCC Manager) who act as our Depute Child Protection Coordinators.

If you are worried that a child is at risk of harm and wish to make contact with Social Services directly, information on how to do so can be found here: https://www.dumfriesandgalloway.gov.uk/social-care-health/keeping-people-safe/child-protection
