Coronavirus Information from the Education Department

Please find below information from the Education Department regarding Coronavirus.

Coronavirus Advice

So far, there hasn’t been a confirmed Coronavirus case in Scotland.

The Council’s Skills, Education and Learning Directorate is monitoring the situation closely and taking advice from local and national health agencies.

Pupils, staff, parents and carers can, of course, play their part in helping to prevent the spread of infection by following the basic health precautions they would use to avoid colds and flu. These include washing hands regularly and using tissues when coughing or sneezing.

Italy

Anyone returning from Italy before 19 February 2020 is not a source of risk.

Anyone who was in any of 11 towns in North Italy [Bertonico, Casalpusterlengo, Castelgrundo, Castiglione D’Adda, Codogna, Fombio, Maleo, San Fiorano, Somaglia, Terranova dei Passerinie, Vo] on or after 19 February are considered to be at increased risk and should self-isolate, even if not displaying any symptoms. Anyone developing symptoms [cough, fever, breathlessness] should seek medical advice

Anyone who has been north of the Pisa-Florence-Rimini line [excluding the 11 towns above] on or before 19 February should monitor themselves for symptoms.

Anyone who travelled to Pisa, Florence or Rimini and south of the line can carry on as normal.

Tenerife

There is no issue for most people who have visited Tenerife, apart from those who stayed at the Costa Adeje Palace Hotel on or after 17 February 2020, and who have symptoms [fever, cough, breathlessness]. They should self-isolate and be tested for Coronavirus. They should contact Health Protection Team, t: 01387 272 724
