On the 14th of December I went to Ireby Poultry show. On the morning of the show I had to put all of my hens in the show pens and put oil on their faces. After the judging finished I had won 3 firsts, 3 seconds, 1 third, best modern game and best hard feather bantam also I won 2 trophies. I had a very successful day and hope to do the same next year.

Ukulele
This week for ukulele we learnt a new Gaelic song it was called Brockenlum , it was very hard to learn . The way Nicola taught us the song to help us was she told us how to properly say the words then she got us to repeat them back to her .
Scottish Learning
In our Scottish learning this week we learned lots of poems by J K Annand. Some of the poems we learned about were Bumbees, Nessie and Chookie Hen. I learned many Scots words from the poem Bumbees like gaed, frae, gif, herrie and bizzin. We will recite the poems at our Scottish afternoon
SHADOW PUPPETS
On the 1st of February P5-7 got invited to Cummertrees to make shadow puppets. At first when we got there we went into a classroom andd met our tutors, they showed us their show about Tam O’Shanter. After we saw it we went into the P 5-7 classroom made our own, all of us from Carrutherstown either made the devil or Tam’s horse. I made the devil with Mia. Once everyone had made their shadow puppets we made a little show, there were two of each characters so Cummertrees got one of each and we got the others. I really enjoyed it and hope we invite Cummertrees to our school someday too. It is good because now I know the poem of Tam O’Shanter and how to make shadow puppets.
Maths
On the 7th of February we learned about division with money.

People in Death Valley have 3 coolers (because its around 50 degrees centigrade )in their homes, but back in Jurassic times it was a swampy land with huge fish eating dinosaurs (like spinosaurus) .In 1860’s there was a old town with large buildingsbuilt when it hit a gold mine but it ran out and was no point in staying.

We learned about how to make shadow puppets and at the end we got to use them on the screen.
