We are building our Curriculum using Dumfries and Galloway Education Department’s ‘5 Elements’ model.

Our Curriculum Overview is ‘ a work in progress’ and is reviewed, evaluated and updated each term as staff and pupils work together. Level and Whole School reviews are held termly to ensure our curriculum provides :

  • Challenge and enjoyment
  • a Breadth of experiences
  • continuous Progression
  • opportunities for Depth by developing different types of thinking and learning
  • Personalisation and choice through responding to individual learning needs
  • a Coherent experience by linking different aspects of learning and applying skills
  • Relevance by learners understanding the purpose of their activities and how it applies in the past, present and future.

Specific Curricular Areas

A new page will open with options to download ‘pdf files’ from Curricular Areas. At present, maths and language files and some Outdoor Learning exemplars are available. Each file gives detailed information about the skills children are learning.
