Eco Group Report
All of the pupils in St Ninian’s school are involved in the Eco group, because we are a small school and we are all responsible for what happens in our school. The Eco Group decided this.
P1-5 are involved in the Litter Group – the P5s have trained the P1s to pick up litter around the school and have awarded them with certificates to encourage them to keep doing it.
P2-6 are the Energy Group. The P6s job is to check the meter to see how much energy we use each month and the results are checked to see how much energy is used in different months. Mrs McEwan likes to know if we are using too much! The P2s job is to turn off the lights.
P3-4 are the Waste and Water group. They have been filling up the water bottles nearly every day to encourage people to drink more while they’re working and every day they bring out the compost bin and put it in the foyer for pupils to put fruit skins and cores in.
P7 are the Transport/Travel Group. They have completed the Travel Plan and have shown the school a Power Point on road safety that they made.
Also all of the school have “Healthy Living” with Healthy Wednesday and Fruity Friday and ‘School Grounds’. For Healthy Wednesday and Fruity Friday, pupils have to bring in a piece of fruit to eat eat for their snack at break time.
We are working towards our Green Flag.
