This page will share details about what we are doing as part of Eco-Schools.

There are 14 pupils in the Eco group who all love being a part of the group, we all try our best to help environment. We have already got a bronze award but our goal is to get a green flag.
BIG BIRD WATCH
To get ready for the big bird watch this Thursday, we made bird feeders. We used toilet roll holders and hoped we could attract lots of birds. Look at the pictures below.
Hopefully we will attract lots of birds to record on Thursday. Fingers crossed!
Forest visits in January 2013
We are learning to be nature detectives this term! Mr Rae has been helping us identify trees in the school playground, car park and forest. It is great fun looking closely and using keys to find out the names of the trees. It makes us look around us instead of just taking the wonderful trees for granted. We look forward to taking part in the Big Birdwatch later in the month.
Our Trip to the Forest 2011
Toasting marshmallows in the forest classroom.
We all had freezing toes as we walked through the field on our way to the forest, but we were about to have loads of fun. When we got to the forest classroom, we had a great surprise. There was a fire in between the benches to warm us all up. We gathered round the fire then we decided to hang up decorations on the Christmas tree. The decorations had popcorn on them, and soon there was lots of birds nibbling on the tasty snacks. We also hung some of the decorations in our dens, which were almost unrecognisable because of all the snow! After we had looked at the new path, we all took a stick and toasted marshmallows over the fire. Soon everyone was eating burnt marshmallows and most of us didn’t even notice the cold because we were having so much fun. Then we all sang some Christmas songs while jumping up and down on the spot to keep warm. As we walked back, it was still cold outside but we were all warm on the inside because we were having such a great time.

It sounds like you had really good fun.
Have you ever thought about digging a plot and planting and growing veg? You could then use your produce to cook with. If you had any left over you could sell it to the parents and make money for school funds.
Just think of all the maths involved with that – I’m sure your teacher would like it – even if you don’t!
