{"id":5716,"date":"2017-12-21T11:39:29","date_gmt":"2017-12-21T10:39:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/StAndrewsPrimarySchoolBlog\/?p=5716"},"modified":"2017-12-21T18:00:55","modified_gmt":"2017-12-21T17:00:55","slug":"p5-enterprise-excellence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/StAndrewsPrimarySchoolBlog\/2017\/12\/21\/p5-enterprise-excellence\/","title":{"rendered":"P5 Enterprise Excellence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The children of Primary 5 have absolutely blown our socks off with their creative, enterprising, team working skills.<\/p>\n<p>I have been up till the wee hours counting, and recounting the money that the children have made from the Virgin money &#8220;Make a \u00a35 Grow&#8221; Challenge.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/StAndrewsPrimarySchoolBlog\/files\/2017\/12\/IMG_2743.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5718\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/StAndrewsPrimarySchoolBlog\/files\/2017\/12\/IMG_2743-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"484\" height=\"363\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>The children are pictured with Christmas cards that they have made for the children staying in Ward 15 over Christmas.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>EVERY SINGLE CHILD SUCCEEDED IN THE CHALLENGE!<\/p>\n<p>As part of our data handling maths focus we collated our profits, made an enormous bar chart and analysed our results.<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/StAndrewsPrimarySchoolBlog\/files\/2017\/12\/IMG_2738.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5717\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/StAndrewsPrimarySchoolBlog\/files\/2017\/12\/IMG_2738-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"340\" height=\"255\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The most popular profit made was between \u00a311 and \u00a320, as 8 people succeeded in making that.&#8221; Alister noticed<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;5 people have made more than \u00a3100 profit Mrs Kerr!!&#8221; Ruby declared<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is money in every single box Mrs Kerr, EVERYONE has grown their \u00a35!!&#8221;\u00a0 announced Argyle.<\/p>\n<p>So, without further ado, the final results are in &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>The P5 have raised in total &#8230;.drum roll please&#8230;&#8230;\u00a31,094.23!!!!!!!!<\/p>\n<p>WHAT A FANTASTIC ACHIEVEMENT!!!<\/p>\n<p>However, what I am MOST impressed by, is the compassion these children have shown, as they asked if they could donate some of their profits to charity, to help those less fortunate than themselves.\u00a0 The children then researched and voted on the charities they wanted to donate money to.<\/p>\n<p>They have decided that 35% of their profits will go to the following charities :<\/p>\n<p>The Children&#8217;s ward at DGRI<\/p>\n<p>SCIAF Real Gifts<\/p>\n<p>MOOL<\/p>\n<p>We will be donating \u00a3128 to each charity in the New Year.
