{"id":1574,"date":"2016-02-01T16:36:53","date_gmt":"2016-02-01T15:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/StAndrewsPrimarySchoolBlog\/?p=1574"},"modified":"2016-02-01T16:36:53","modified_gmt":"2016-02-01T15:36:53","slug":"victorian-toys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/StAndrewsPrimarySchoolBlog\/2016\/02\/01\/victorian-toys\/","title":{"rendered":"Victorian Toys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today as part of our Marvellous Monday activities P3 found out about toys children played with in Victorian times.\u00a0 We listed similarities and differences between toys in the past and toys today.\u00a0 We also discovered that there were several differences between the toys the rich Victorian children played with and those played with by the poor children at this time.<\/p>\n<p>After having done this research we had time to try making some Victorian toys of our own.\u00a0 We made ball and cup games and thaumatropes.\u00a0 A thaumatrope is made by creating two separate images which when put together and twisted quickly appear to blend together to make one image!
