Family homework this year was to create a picture or a model linked to their Scot’s poem. The standard was very high and it was very hard to pick a poster and model winner from each class. But the results were:
Since the beginning of this term, all children have been busy learning a Scots poem. They had to consider their pronunciation, pace, volume, clarity and use of actions. Mr Plant had the hard job of deciding the winners from each class. They are as follows:
P1 – Moray (Raindrops by J K Annand)
P2 – Ava Stevenson (Twa Legged Mice by J K Annand)
P3 – Niamh Castle (Circus by J K Annand)
P3/4 – Lachlan MacDonald (The Magic Pizza by Alison Fitt)
P4/5 – Millie Whorlow (Skippin by J K Annand)
P5/6 – Erin McCulloch ( Willie Wastle by Robert Burns)
P7 – Jenny McCulloch (Up in the Morning Early by Robert Burns)
All the boys and girls had a fantastic time at their Christmas party. They enjoyed the games such as corners and musical stars as well as the food provided. Even a special visitor came to hand out presents to all the boys and girls. A great time was had by all.
Christmas With The Aliens is a great nativity in which some alien visitors become stranded on earth with a broken spaceship. They meet a group of schoolchildren about to rehearse their Christmas play and are invited to watch it.
The aliens discover an amazing story and want the whole universe to hear it. The aliens managed to get their spaceship mended and travelled back to outer space to spread the story of Christmas.
During the October holidays, The Fed Up Café organised a competition. Children had to give their ideas and views on the Fed up Café. A winner was selected and it was Brandon Patterson from P7. He won an amazing prize of a Fire Kindle. Well done Brandon!
Katie Monair & Erin Caldwell from P5/6 organised a raffle in school today. Many children won Santa keys and bags of sweets. The main prize was a chocolate hamper won by Fraser Lindsay in P5/6. The total raised was £164.00. This will go towards our Christmas parties. Well done girls.
The Toddler club also announced the winners of their raffle with lots of prizes won by the children.
Thank you for all your support in fundraising this year.
There is a lot of excitement throughout the school at the moment with classes practising for their Christmas Show. Please encourage your child to learn their lines, if they have any.
