The Fundraising Group have been busy organising this year’s BBQ which will be held in the playground on Friday 12th June from 6 – 8 p.m. the theme is the Funfair and I’m sure the children will be highly excited when they see the giant slide which is coming!

We are very grateful to the members who put in such a lot of work to make this a really good evening and appreciate everyone’s support by coming along and joining in.

Fundraising Minutes 7th October 2013

It was nice to see new members at the Parent Council and the Fundraising Group last week. It’s a good way of getting to know how a school works.

Everyone is invited to the Parent Council A.G.M. on Monday 10th June at 7 p.m. I do hope we will have some more volunteers this year to become representatives for their child’s year group.

Learning Town Survey

Dumfries Learning Town

The Parent Council has arranged for Colin Smith to meet with parents next Wednesday, 24th April, to discuss the proposals for Dumfries Learning Town. Parents of pupils from Infants and beyond should attend as the new proposals will affect your children!

The Learning Town is still at a consultative stage and parents should be well informed so they can have their say about what they think!

The next meeting of the Parent Council is on Monday 13th May at 7 p.m.

The next meeting of the Fundraising Group is on Tuesday 28th May at 7p.m.

Fundraising Minute April 2013

This year’s Fundraising Group BBQ has been arranged for Friday  7th June from 6 – 8 p.m.

The theme is Pirates and Fairies and everyone is welcome to come dressed up for the occassion.

The Group would be very happy to have more members join and as a friendly group anyone thinking of joining should come along to a meeting where they would be made very welcome.

MARCH

Last Friday night we had a successful filmnight with 3 movies on offer. Thanks to all the parents who came along to help supervise and serve the juice and crisps.

Monday night’s Council meeting had to be postponed as there were not enough members there to be quorate. The next meeting is on Tuesday 19th February at 7p.m.

The next Fundraising Group meeting is on Tuesday 5th February.

Loreburn Parent Council meets at least once a term. There should be a representative from each year group. We are currently looking for representatives from Primaries 1, 2 and 3. Please get in touch if you would be willing to serve on our Council. We discuss policy, finance, current issues about school, e.g. the fencing, and everyone would be made welcome.

Our Fundraising Group is part of the Parent Council. it meets on the first Tuesday of every month. Although it is quite informal, it serves a very valuable purpose….raising funds to buy extras for our children.
