Emergency Contacts and School Closure


We ask that all parents/guardians ensure that school has up-to-date emergency contact details for parents.

If the school has to close in an emergency (e.g. water supply fails, electricity is cut off, the heating system breaks down or there is a severe snow storm), obviously it is not possible to notify parents/guardians in advance. Understandably, the school cannot possibly telephone every parent to see if they are at home and so we ask that all pupils know of two neighbouring addresses that they can go to if necessary. It is particularly helpful during the winter months if parents regularly remind the children of these addresses.


If the school has to close due to unforeseen circumstances, this will be announced on local radio as well as on this website. Parents/guardians will be informed by Groupcall, but at busy times (such as during bad weather) this message may take some time to arrive as many schools will also be using the system. Parents/guardians are asked to ensure that the school is informed of arrangements for their child/ren.
