Earlier this year, our P5-7 pupils were set the challenge of designing their own app for a mobile phone, by the company “Make it Happen”.\u00a0 There were lots of wonderful suggestions.\u00a0 Runners up at Leswalt were all give certificates –\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Murray Reid – car game<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Daisy Doyle – book reader for dyslexics<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Hamish Mc Gregor – Cooking app<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Rose Santangeli – Dog training app.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Five overall winners were chosen for the whole of Dumfries and Galloway.\u00a0 The lucky winners all received a Coding book, water bottle and brand new Kindle Fire tablet!\u00a0 The winners also get their app made for real! <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

At Leswalt we are delighted and excited to have one winner. Drum roll please……<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Alexander Clark<\/strong> has created “Name your stock” – an app that is designed to allow you to identify different breeds of sheep and cows you may spot in the fields.\u00a0 Alexander will work in conjunction with the company to add further breeds and information to this app.\u00a0 One key breed he will be adding soon is his beloved Texel sheep!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

You can download the app on to your own phone – Mrs Baillie already has it on her phone and was able to show the school this morning \ud83d\ude42<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
