Hutton Primary School was built in 1897 and was extended in 1906 serving the village of Boreland, 7 miles north-east of Lockerbie, and the surrounding rural catchment area.   The school has capacity for 29 pupils, although the current role is 19.  There is one teacher and 3 visiting specialists for PE, Art and Music.
