Hi all, Caspian is back from baking my first loaf of bread all on my own!<\/p>\n

Today I also did some maths and some vocabulary. I had to write down the instructions for the bread. Here they are:<\/p>\n

Ingredients:<\/p>\n

500g of bread flour<\/p>\n

15g butter<\/p>\n

1x yeast sachet<\/p>\n

1 teaspoon sugar<\/p>\n

1 teaspoon salt<\/p>\n

300ml tepid water<\/p>\n

  1. Weigh 500g of bread flour and put it into the bowl.<\/li>\n
  2. Weigh 15g of Stork butter and put it into the bowl.<\/li>\n
  3. Make sure that there are no big chunks of butter in the bowl.<\/li>\n
  4. Add a packet of yeast, and a teaspoon of salt, and one of sugar.<\/li>\n
  5. Make a well (a hole in the middle of the mixture.)<\/li>\n
  6. Pour 300ml of tepid water into the well.<\/li>\n
  7. Mix well.<\/li>\n
  8. Knead the dough.<\/li>\n
  9. Let the dough prove by putting it into the bowl and putting a damp teatowel over the bowl.<\/li>\n
  10. After the first prove, beat all the air out of the dough and roll it back. Repeat for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n
  11. Let the dough prove again.<\/li>\n
  12. Put the bread on the top tray in the oven and set it to 200 degrees centigrade.<\/li>\n
  13. Check to see if the bread is hollow. If it is, complete step 14.<\/li>\n
  14. Let it cool for 15 minutes.<\/li>\n
  15. Enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
