{"id":19168,"date":"2020-05-26T18:29:51","date_gmt":"2020-05-26T18:29:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/HolywoodHullabaloo\/?p=19168"},"modified":"2020-05-26T18:29:51","modified_gmt":"2020-05-26T18:29:51","slug":"bats-in-the-belfry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/dg\/HolywoodHullabaloo\/2020\/05\/26\/bats-in-the-belfry\/","title":{"rendered":"Bats in the Belfry!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi all, Caspian is back,<\/p>\n<p>Today I wrote down some of the bat species I have been researching, drew two of them (common pipistrelle and the long-eared bats), and wrote down some facts about them too.<\/p>\n<p>There are over 1200 species of bat, including:-<\/p>\n<p>Long-eared bat<\/p>\n<p>Common pipestrelle<\/p>\n<p>Common noctule bat<\/p>\n<p>Vampire bat (yes they are real!)<\/p>\n<p>Lesser noctule bat<\/p>\n<p>Natterrers bat<\/p>\n<p>Whiskered bat (looks like a flying shrew)<\/p>\n<p>Big brown bat<\/p>\n<p>Little brown bat<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s wrap that up and move on to some batty facts:-<\/p>\n<p>Some bats are as small as bees; the bumblebee bat weighs only 2g and is the world&#8217;s smallest mammal.
