These are my woodpecker facts from yesterday.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>They can peck a tree 30\u00a0 times per second.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0They peck trees to make nests.<\/li>\n<li>Their life span is 6\u00a0 &#8211; 11 years.<\/li>\n<li>There are 200 species of woodpecker.<\/li>\n<li>Some species live in deserts.<\/li>\n<li>There are air pockets protecting their brains so they don&#8217;t hurt their head when they are pecking.<\/li>\n<li>Males and females make the nest together.<\/li>\n<li>The wood chippings make the nest soft for the chicks.<\/li>\n<li>Woodpeckers are endangered.<\/li>\n<li>Sometimes they accidentally peck metal and telephone poles.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi all, quick update from Caspian.
