Primary 3

Thursday 31st May

We all enjoyed Health Week and had great fun taking part in the various activities.

Thursday 22nd February

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the children and their families for preparing such wonderful famous landmark posters.  The presentations in class were delivered with confidence and enthusiasm and they all enjoyed the experience of sharing their learning with the class.  They were all given a sticker to wear around school encouraging other children and teachers to talk to them about their chosen landmark.  Here are a few of their ideas.

Thursday 12th October

I am so impressed at the effort put into creating the castles at home. The class have been excited to see what each other has made. As part of the task pupils presented their castles to the class today. I am so pleased at how well primary three did at speaking in front of an audience. Thank you for all the support at home.

Have a look at us busy in class this week…

Thursday 31st August

The end of our second week  in primary 3 is fast approaching.  I am delighted with the way in which the children have settled into class and they are working hard to adapt to their new routine.

We have started our first topic with great enthusiasm and the children have enjoyed taking on their various roles of class knights, guards, kings, queens, cooks and jesters!  Your child may have mentioned to you that we have been receiving some very interesting letters from a sad dragon who has lost his friends.  Primary 3 have agreed to help him and have started by drawing missing dragon pictures and have added lots of good descriptive language to their posters. We enjoyed our first outdoor learning session on Monday where the children were playing medieval games and displaying excellent teamwork.

In literacy we have been focussing on sentence structure and the class have enjoyed changing sentences from boring to brilliant.  They have  worked hard on jumbled sentences to ensure that they make sense.  In math we have been focussing on addition and they are enjoying  challenging themselves during mental maths lessons.
