As a starting point we have been talking about how we know it&#8217;s winter. This has also encouraged the children to think about the recent flooding that has featured on the news and which some have experienced in Annan. We would like to share some of the children&#8217;s ideas about winter.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Carmen:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">it&#8217;s winter &#8217;cause it&#8217;s colder and the grass turns in to snow. The trees have lost their leaves because the snow&#8217;s too strong to make<\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000\">them stay on.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Roxy:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">it&#8217;s winter because we&#8217;re learning about it. It&#8217;s cold and sometimes it&#8217;s snowing and we get Jack Frost.<br \/>\n<\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Deryn:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">the pond gets frozen and you can skate on it.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Tom:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">it&#8217;s cold and we need hats and gloves.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Reagyn:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Jack Frost makes ice. He normally comes to life and if water&#8217;s there he makes it alive.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Lexi:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">you get nice and warm in a jacket &#8217;cause it&#8217;s winter.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Rebecca:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">you need gloves and a scarf when it&#8217;s winter.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Fearne:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">you need coats &#8217;cause it&#8217;s cold.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Jade:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">I like winter &#8217;cause it&#8217;s snow. The snow falls all down<strong>.<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Jessica W:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">you get wind and rain too in winter.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Logan:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">there was a big flood at the harbour and a ball went swimming in it.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> Conan:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">you need to rescue people when it&#8217;s all flooding.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> William:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">a flood is very high water that goes up in the clouds after a while.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our learning at the start of this term is focussed on the signs of winter and how it affects our lives.
