There is a link on the right under <span style=\"color: #0000ff\">&#8220;Useful Reading&#8221;<\/span> called <span style=\"color: #0000ff\">&#8220;Girfec leaflet&#8221;<\/span> which explains this. Last term we also began talking to the children about these wellbeing indicators to gauge their understanding initially of what being safe means for them.<\/p>\n<p>We thought we would share some of the ideas that the children came up with.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Wareeshah:<\/span> we don&#8217;t run away.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Mollie:<\/span> don&#8217;t go on the road.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Ben F.: <\/span>holding a grown-up&#8217;s hand.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Finn:<\/span> don&#8217;t bang heads.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Henley:<\/span> don&#8217;t run.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Jayden<\/span>: stay away from water.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Grant:<\/span> I don&#8217;t go too fast when I&#8217;m on my bike.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Euan:<\/span> stay away from fire.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Ellie:<\/span> stay away from under the sink. There&#8217;s stuff there that hurts you.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Jenson:<\/span> sit on your seat properly.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Ewan:<\/span> don&#8217;t jump off the edge of a cliff.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Aoife:<\/span> Mummy and Daddy keep you safe.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Erica:<\/span> don&#8217;t touch knives or you&#8217;ll get cut.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Kenzie:<\/span> walking is safe. Follow the Nursery rules.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Hannah:<\/span> stay away from the edge of<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0000ff\">the harbour. If you fell off you couldn&#8217;t get out.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Rory:<\/span> stay with your Mummy near the river.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Finbarr:<\/span> don&#8217;t run and don&#8217;t jump down mountains.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Orla:<\/span> stay on the paths.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Sian:<\/span> don&#8217;t go next to fireworks.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Luca:<\/span> you need to safe in a house &#8211; safe from black ice.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Chloe:<\/span> it means you don&#8217;t get runned over.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Joshua:<\/span> you stay safe in the line &#8217;cause people hold hands.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Dylan:<\/span> stay inside so cars can&#8217;t get you.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"> Ben W.: <\/span>stay in the house &#8217;cause you might get hurt if you&#8217;re not with your Mum and Dad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We were very impressed with all the different ideas that the children produced about staying safe.
