Primary 6/7 enjoyed their final video conferencing session today led by Heather Reid, formerly of BBC Scotland Weather Reporter fame. What a great evening we all had at Glenluce Primary Scottish Night. There was music, poetry, artwork, dancing and even some traditional Scottish fare – haggis, neeps and tatties! The children provided a wonderful evening’s entertainment. All pupils in the school had worked exceptionally hard. Mr Harold McCracken had the unenviable job of judging who would represent each class on the night- he had some VERY hard decisions to make. This had been done earlier in the week. What a very talented group of pupils we have at Glenluce Primary and an extremely supportive P.T.A. who organised the evening. Kenny Campbell did an excellent job of compering this. After all the hard work the staff and pupils had done in class, they were delighted that the evening was such a great success! Big thanks to the cooks on the evening – very much appreciated and the wonderful Stranraer and District Pipe Band for their fabulous displays – we even had present pupil Janey-Leigh and past pupil ,Lewis McHarrie involved in this as well as our very own school secretary Mrs Hastie. Thanks to all!

Glenluce Nursery’s Birdwatch

The Nursery are taking part in the Little School’s Birdwatch.

They are feeding the birds and will count how many different birds come to their bird table. They will also be learning about the different types of Garden birds and why we should be feeding them at this time of year. The children will send their results of their birdwatch to the RSPB to help them gather information on how well our birds are doing.

The children only put out the birdfeed this morning and it has become a very popular place for local birds to feed already!

TEXT SANTA!

A massive well done to all of the pupils involved in the Text Santa Appeal. This fund-raising event was entirely the pupils’ own work and we are immensely proud of the fantastic job they did! Scott Thomson, Ben Mitchell and Callum Donald  initiated the plans and they were very ably assisted by Erin Rankin, Wilson Sloan, Tommy McKinstry, Cameron McKie, Rachael Murphy, Rebecca Torbet and Kelci-Ann Keith. They managed to raise a fabulous £114! Huge thanks to everyone who gave so generously. Well done! Merry Christmas to you all.
