P7 pupils are elected each year to be house captains for our 4 school houses; Dornock, Lowther, Stapleton and Solway.

House Captains – Session 2013-14

Each year pupils from P7 form a Junior Teacher Association (J.T.A).  They split into groups working with assigned members of staff on a range of tasks.  This year we have a Communities Group, a Blog Group, a Health Group, a Commonwealth group and a Charities Group.  Each group has responsibilities during the year, working with staff and pupils throughout the year.

The J.T.A – Session 2013-14

Each session, pupils from the Upper School are chosen to be Junior Road Safety Officers (J.R.S.O). These pupils help organise Hands Up surveys and Walk to School Week as well as help organise competitions during the year.

J.R.S.O’s – Session 2013-14

During the year Miss Leopold also meets with focus groups of pupils from each class of the school.  This is a time for everyone to have their say on a given subject.

In each class, teachers use Circle Time and News Time to give pupils the opportunity to have their say in a supportive climate.
