This ran for four weeks in April / May funded by the ‘Big Lottery Communities’They awarded us a generous amount which provided brand new equipment to use. Look at the terrific trampette, new slope for rolling down and new mats; this looks great fun! Thank you ‘Big Lottery.’

Gymnastics
Sixteen children from P5, P6 and P7 competed in the Dumfries and Galloway Regional Gymnastics Competition at DG1 in Dumfries recently. They all gave their best effort to perform with quality and control in front of an audience. They were impressive, a credit to themselves, their parents and the school. Practising lots of new skills in order to prepare for the event, well done!
It is wonderful that so many of the children have started to attend the after school gymnastics club.
Cross Country
6 of our P6 and P7 pupils completed last week in the Stewarty Cross Country League in Colliston Park. All completed the two laps of the course to finish well. There other children from local schools competing too and we are really proud that Jan Keeley p7 won the race. Well done to all!!
History Club
Mrs Howie and Mrs Irving have been running an after school History Club because we are entering the British legion competition for the centenery of the First World War. The children attending the club all had a connection or an interest in someone remembered on the memorial in Dalbeattie Park. The children were involved in researching information and recording it on a spreadsheet then putting a dot on the map to represent the place where the members of the forces had died then finally preparing their art work. It has been a joy to see them commit to this task and get involved in all the work. Thank you also to Mrs O’Donaghue and Mrs Heindrich for helping us.
