Scooters!

This week we have loved having a class set of scooters to be used by the whole school from Sustrans.  Here are some photos of P1/2 on a tour of the playground.  Well done to Cree for taking all the photos!

Computational Thinking

Yesterday we had Carol Moyes in our school from the Raise team.  P1/2 had an ‘unplugged’ session with her which was all about computational thinking.  Lawson was ‘Robot Lawson’ and had to follow our instructions to pick up a pencil.  We learned what an algorithm is and learned a fun way to remember it!

Guid Nychburris Visit

Today we welcomed the Guid Nychburris principles for 2018 with their horses.  They announced the prize inners for the handwriting competition.  Well done to Zara for achieving 1st place and Blair for achieving 3rd place overall.  Highly commended certificates were awarded to Cora, Rose, Eva, Alexa and Alex.

We wish our own attendant Tia the best of luck for Saturday!

Transition Activities

This week our transition activities were all about STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths).  P1/2 and the pre schoolers had lots of fun building structures, making shapes, building with lego and creating patterns with skittles!

Play

Mrs Gallacher introduced some gutter pipes to our outdoor space today.  There were lots of discussions about forces (steep/flat), collecting water at the end and joining them up to make sure no water was lost. They was so much teamwork involved too!
