Harvest Assembly

Well done to P5/6 and P6/7 for a super Harvest Assembly yesterday. Some super learning and poems. You could see how much they enjoyed sharing their learning with us all. Well done to all the classes for some fab songs and singing. Thank you to everyone who donated items for the harvest table and well done to the House and Vice captains for delivering the harvest bags to people in the community and to the Foodbank Charity.  Have a lovely holiday.

Sprint Relay Triumph

We have some great runners at Cargenbridge. Three teams went along on Tuesday 5th June to take part in the annual sprint relay competition. All 3 teams did so well and ran their socks off!  The Primary 6 team of Kasey, Joseph, Kyle and Lucas ran really well and enjoyed their first time competing. Well done boys.  Our girl team of Millie, Kloe, Tia and Madelaine ran so well and got into the final. Well done and they narrowly missed being placed.  Our boys team of Matthew, Innes, Alex and Stephen came second overall, which was  a great achievement as they were up against the big schools. Well done boys!

Cargenbridge have “links” with Kilnford

Thank you so much to the staff at Kilnford for all their support over the last month. The children loved their visits  and it really helped their learning about Land Use. They found the experience of creating their own flavour of sausage exciting and were delighted when chips and curry sauce sausages were made to sell in the shop. Well done to Molly for creating the sausage

label.

A grand total of £411 was made and this will be presented to the school in the near future. Thanks you to everyone who supported this exciting venture. Another great opportunity to enhance the STEM skills of our pupils.

P7 Careers Visit to DTF

Primary 7 pupils chose 2 careers to work shadow as part of their annual  Careers Project. They got to see and take part in some of the actual tasks these employees do in their job every day. This project gives the children a real opportunity to see inside the world of work and realise that lots of the skills we develop in school are needed in the work place too. Thanks to everyone at DTF and in particular George and Ian for organising this.

P6/7 Lockerbie Manor Visit

During the second last week of term 3 P6/7 went to Lockerbie Manor and stayed over for 2 nights. They had great fun trying lots of new things… abseiling, climbing, fencing, mountain biking, low ropes, blind trail and survival skills. The obstacle course was really muddy.  At times they had to work together, solve problems and come out of their comfort zones to challenge themselves. The biggest challenge maybe was leaving their technology behind!! Well done everyone and a huge thanks to all the staff who took part and supported the children throughout their stay. Lots of memories were made! Lots of photos were taken. Here are a few…

STEM Family Evening

This week 9 families came along to learn more about STEM. Keith Walker from the RAISE team told them all about STEM. He explained about all the different job prospects in these STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). He also told them that the wages in these STEM professions are very good and unfortunately there are more men than women in these jobs. Afterwards each family took part in a challenge. They had to make a rocket out of a large water bottle. Using vinegar and bicarbonate of soda they had to launch the rocket into the sky. Everyone had such good fun. Some of the rockets went really high. If they didn’t work they had to use their problem solving skills. Thanks to everyone who came along. .

Fee Fie Fo Fum

Well done P4/5, what a fantastic panto. Oh no it wasn’t oh yes it was!!! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Great singing from all the pupils in all of the classes, lots of laughs and lots of smiles. You should be very proud of all your hard work. A fab way to end the term. A special thanks to everyone who helped out and made it so good!!

World Quality Day

Our recent World Quality Day was very successful and the pupils showed how good design engineers they are…. Here are some photographs showing their designs. Thanks to all the parents who were able to come along to see for themselves. Thank you to everyone from DTF for their support.
