TASK 1 – Get Spelling

Here are the Speed Spell words for this week, please ask someone at home to read them out to you so that you can write them in your Practice Books.

Green Book Words Unit 11 – dictionaries, activities, possibilities, varieties, nationalities and universities.

Blue Book Words Unit 6– creation, observation, conversation, education, expectation and reservation.

Red Book Words Unit 2- sharpest, nicest, fullest, weaker, earlier and straighter.

Once you have done this, please complete the following:

– Dots and Dashes

– Word Changers

Once you have finished, please use a calculator to correct or ask someone at home to correct your work.  Remember, you can also use the inverse operation to correct your work too. For example 28472 x 6, once you have the answer, to use the inverse operation to correct, simply carry out a division calculation using your answer divided by 6 (the answer to this division calculation should be 28472).

Happy Easter Primary 7! I hope you have all had a relaxing, safe and lovely Easter holiday.  Today marks the beginning of Term 4 and although it is very different for us not being in school, I know you will all continue to do your best whilst working at home.

I will continue to post learning tasks on the blog, please continue to establish a routine at home that works best for you and your family.  There is no pressure to complete everything that is posted, it is important you work at a pace that feels right for you and if you wish you can follow the timetable included in the Home Learning Packs.   Numeracy and Literacy posts will be available in the mornings as that is when we would normally do these things in school.

Good Afternoon Primary 7! This is the strangest last day of term not being able to enjoy our Free Time Friday together, I am missing you all and have enjoyed the emails you have been sending me.  I hope you have all had a good week at home, I have been so impressed with all of the hard work and dedication you have shown this week!

I will not be updating the blog with learning posts during the two week holidays, I think we all deserve time at home to relax with our families, have fun, read books – do whatever you enjoy! I will be checking my emails should you have a question about anything that has previously been posted.

TASK 3 – RESEARCH FOR NON-CHRONOLOGICAL REPORT

Before we finished school , we were learning about the features of non-chronological reports and discussed that when the schools are closed I would like you all to work on creating your own report. In your Home Learning Pack you will find an example of a report (Crocodiles and Alligators) and a Non-Chronological Report Features Checklist.

Today I would like you to decide on a topic that you would like to base your report on – for example, the Rainforest, an animal of your choice, a country, a sport, a planet – it can be anything of interest to you.

Once you have decided on a topic you can start to gather some research and create a spider diagram as we have done in class. Remember each part of the diagram can be used for a sub-heading in your report.  This is all I would expect you to do before the holidays – after the holidays I will post more information about what to do next.

TOPMARKS DAILY 10 – Mental Maths Challenge

Select Level 6 from the first Choose Dropdown Tab

Then select an area from the second Choose Dropdown Tab – for example Fractions – Mixed Decimal Equivalents or Fractions of Amounts.

Then select the question interval and be ready with paper and pencil. The answers will be shown at the end.

Once you have used this for revising fractions, you can select other areas to revise and test yourselves! Good Luck!

3. Ask someone to home to read the article and then answer your questions, or ask a classmate to answer them by commenting on this post.

PODCAST MATHS QUIZ – (You may be asked to sign up to BBC to access this, ask an adult at home – it’s just an email address and then create a password, I just set up an account for myself)
