PRIMARY 7-MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK

Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week 2020 and this year the theme is kindness.  Kindness is defined by doing something towards yourself and others, motivated by genuine desire to make a positive difference, this is extremely relatable to the current situation where we are seeing many acts of kindness happening daily.

Watch this video to learn more about why kindness matters:

Can you complete the 7 Day Kindness Challenge? If you wish, you can take pictures and then send them into me or post them to your blogs.

One of my favourite ever quotes from a book is very fitting this week:

PRIMARY 7 – HOME LEARNING W/C 18/5/20

Good Morning Primary 7 🙂

I hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend! This week the home learning will be posted daily – numeracy and literacy tasks will be there for you to work through.  Remember you have a few things in your Home Learning Pack that you can work through if you wish – a maths textbook, a historical timelines activity that involves you researching different historical periods, a guided reading activity sheet and the home learning grid (which has websites and ideas on it).  I will also be posting some other websites for you to use, if you wish.

Please remember just do what you can, there is absolutely no pressure to complete everything that is posted each day, some days you may do more and some days you may do less, it is what works best for you and your family.

If you haven’t already joined teams please can you do this, you just need your glow email and password to sign in.  If you can also check your emails, I sent out an email asking for a P1 picture and also a picture of you in you hoodie holding up a message for the other children.  Thanks to those who have sent me their pictures, my email address is ddspaton810@glow.sch.uk if it is easier for someone at home to send me the pictures.

Have a good day!   Mrs P  🙂

Good Morning Primary 7! Happy Friday, we have completed another week, well done to everyone 🙂

TASKS – Generate Board Number, Sumdog and Maths Puzzles (Extra)

For today’s Board Number I would like you to create/generate your own questions – you can create them yourself, ask someone at home to create some or use the Mathsbot Question Generator.  You may wish to focus on one area, for example division or you may wish to do all four operations – it is up to you.

This website allows you to select an area to revise or you can choose the Four Operations option –

https://mathsbot.com/questionGenerator

You can choose how many groups of questions you get. You can start with 1 group of 5-10 questions then build up to more. It will look like this:

Question Generator

Then select a topic from the drop-down box – for example Arithmetic: Four Operations then choose the level of difficulty (0 being the easiest and 10 being the hardest) I would start at 3 and work up.

Then select the time limit – start with 10-15 minutes and then click on Create Questions. It will look like this:

Time Left: 9:08
A1.
4105 + 1318
A2.
6846 + 3549
A3.
9002 + 7133
A4.
4211 + 5850
A5.
