Primary 7 had their first lesson with Miss Sangster yesterday and were learning about the Rainforest and where in the world these are located. They spent time working together and using an atlas to locate the rainforests.
Primary 7 spent time with their buddies on Monday afternoon, they helped them with their learning about their senses and then they all had some time to play together in the P1 classroom.
Primary 7 spent Wednesday at St John’s in the Drama Department. They took part in a project focusing on transition and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Primary 7 enjoyed taking part in Fit Thursday last week. They took part in various sports including football, boxercise, dancing, table tennis and cycling.
In class literacy, Primary 7 have been developing their understanding of literal, inferential and evaluative comprehension and questioning. They worked together to create literal and inferential questions of their own based on different pictures and created an evaluation using the clues in the picture and their background knowledge.
Primary 7 had a fantastic afternoon yesterday helping their P1 buddies celebrate 100 days at school! They took part in lots of activities including a tea party, making portraits together and they took part in a reading challenge to read 100 books!
Primary 7 have been taking part in a counting choir at the beginning of a maths lesson, this gives the pupils the chance to be the teacher and test their classmates on their counting skills! We have also been using the number ping pong balls to test each other with mental calculations.
This term Primary 7 are learning how to play netball during gym lessons with Mrs Paton. They are enjoying developing their skills and yesterday took part in a mini-tournament.
Primary 7 are continuing to work in their cooperative learning teams for a variety of lessons and this week Stewart visited us and taught us a few different strategies. We had the opportunity to work with other members of the class and took part in a consulting line discussion, through these tasks we are building our confidence and developing our talking and listening skills.
